Recq helicases: observed to promote an alternative non-crossover pathway for holliday. Gene conversion: observed in mating-type switching, but also commonly observed during normal hr. If difference between alleles occurs near dsb, the sequence of the other allele will be copied over when 3" ssdna tails invade and are elongated: also occurs due to repair of mismatches in recombination intermediates. Non-allelic hr: homologous sequences often exist at different positions in the genome these, recombination between sequences can create, duplications & deletions, translocations.
