Document Summary
He is the wisest of men in the world. The oracle cannot tell a lie: so he must truly be wise. To ask someone who has the rep of being wise, if he could find someone wiser than himself than the oracle would be wrong: testing this would be a no no. Socrates is indeed wise because he at least knows he is not wise, unlike others whoo think they are wise but they are not: he questioned others about his wisdom. They thought they had perfect devine knowledge about everything else. Socrates is the spokes person for the oracle at delphi. Socrates has money to equip himself in the parapaphisian war: he does not have any perfect devine wisdom, no one does. Malatus thinks the law is what will make the youth virtuous.
