Theory of the earth: the earth isn"t what it appears to be, we have a very distorted view of reality, the surface of the earth is reality, and there is a perpetual mist that causes disease and corruption, socrates says there is another earth that is above the surface of this, and calls it the true earth or the splendid earth, which is the dwelling place of god and were the soul goes after death, socrates believes that every soul is judged at the time of death, the evil souls will go to a place of abuse forever and ever (hell, socrates gets ready to take a bath, not a real one, but a spiritual one.
