The purpose of this study was to study social conformity. The method of this study was that seven people would be sitting at a table answering various questions. However the trick is that six out of the seven people are a part of the study and answering questions in a very specific way. Therefore there is one person that is under the belief that everyone is a participant in the study but the reality is they are the only participant. A picture/ question is asked and everyone says there answers out loud, everyone that is in on the study gives the wrong answer and the test is to see what the one person who is actually a participant does. Do they go with the group even though they may think it"s wrong or do they speak out and go against what all the other.
