The word clone derived from the greek ion meaning twig or slip. 1981 - illmensee and hoppe claimed to have produced 3 exact clones of a mouse. 1984 - willadsen cloned a live lamb from immature sheep embryo cells. 1985 - willadsen cloned a sheep/goat chimera - geep.
