Major controversies examples: wwii nazi experiments* (europe, tuskegee syphilis study (us, nutritional experiments on aboriginal communities in 1940s and 1950s (canada) The nuremberg code is the first international set of guidelines for research, which came as a direct result of the horrific nazi experiments in wwii. Prior to this code, there was no established international standards in research. Some of the nazi positions and administrators during the nazi nuremberg trials used that to their defense. The nuremberg code has a simple 10 principles and continues to affect research guidelines everywhere. When these trials happened, the other scientists in other countries such as the us and canada largely ignored them, thinking that they had nothing to do with these experiments.
