Neurocranium orbit as triangular shape and ears as rectangular shape. Today, we will cover the 2 nasal cavities (two boxes) that are connected with the paranasal sinuses. We will also describe the oral cavity (lower box) and the 3 salivary glands. Nasal cavity: located below the orbit and above the oral cavity. Alar wings , that will shape the nostrils, keep them open. Posterior aspect (root of the nose) is composed of our nasal bones, part of our frontal bone and mostly, we have the maxillary. If you look at the lateral wall, we recognize the ethmoid bone (green). Those scroll like structures (from anterior view), they"re creating sub spaces in your nasal cavity. A meatus is a passage/opening in latin: the passage associated with the middle conchae middle nasal meatus inferior conchae inferior nasal meatus. So, we saw what we see from the lateral wall from a sagittal cut.
