Entrepreneurial: an individual bridges across structural holes, thereby connecting individuals or groups that would otherwise not be connected. Clique: most members are directly linked to each other there are few or no structural holes and a high cohesion. Power: control over resources valued by others; influence is coercive. Status: respect, prestige, and admiration granted by others; influence is voluntary. Positional/formal (power): level in the hierarchy; control over rewards, resources, and information; centrality, relevance, visibility of position. Personal/informal (status): relationships; reputation and track record; expertise and knowledge; personal attributes. Feeling high power: more action oriented, confident and optimistic, risk-tasking, and egocentric. Feeling low power: hold back talented employees, behave in more authoritarian ways, and place more restrictions on those working for them. Coercive: the person can make things difficult for you and you fear and want to avoid getting him/her angry.
