Toxicology is deined as the study of adverse efects of xenobioic on biological and ecological systems. Xeniobioic: anything foreign to a biological system: toxicology looks at the undesired efects of therapeuic agents, while pharmacology focuses on desired efects. It looks at the acion of poisons/toxins that would not be used as therapeuic agents. It also encompasses looking at efects of chemicals on the environment indirect efect on human health. He described a phenomenon by saying how quickly a drug acts depends on the milieu it"s in: rome, 132-62bc king mithridates vi was terriied of being poisoned.
