Ppl have been trying to model an artificial brain using math but the challenge lies in the sheer complexity of the brain. All the senses share three main steps: physical stimulus, set of events transforming the stimulus into nerve impulses, a response to this signal in the form of a perception or conscious experience of sensation. Perception is not a direct record of the external world around us. Perceptions are constructed internally according to constraints in the architecture of the ns and its fxnl abilities.
