Question of the day: what is well-being, what factors are associated with individual differences in level of well being, there are stable individual differences on happiness. Two types of well-being: hedonic, happiness, subjective well-being: thinking about the happy things in our life. The keynote speaker is neil pasricha, who is a best-selling author for his book the happiness equation : he is a compelling fellow. He is good at introducing people to psychological studies: ted talk: he talks about his tragic story and how he decided to find happiness again after his wife left him and that his best friend killed himself. He said he decided to get some positivity in his life and he started a blog. He started to focus on small things in life. Is he sacrificing his personal growth by covering up his pain: our tendency is to stay happy. It seems that we have a set point of happiness.
