At the end of the play, it looks like philoctetes and neoptolemus are about to go home and. Neoptolemus tells him about the prophecy and suggests going to troy. Until the end, it looks like they"re going home until heracles comes down and tells them to go to. Troy it"s their destiny to take the trojan war to completion and that there"s someone there that will heal philoctetes" foot. Odysseus in this play isn"t as clever as he purports to be. And the prophecy wasn"t just for the bow it was also for the guy who owns the bow.
