Training is sometimes more focused on employee satisfaction, integrating the employee, more of a reward, etc. Other companies are more focused on training for success of human capital, to ensure a return on investment. Evaluation design: evaluated 4 levels using pre-test and post-test design with a control group. There is a measure of skills before the test so they have something to compare the abilities to. Evaluation: reaction to training, participants" learning of training content, participants" abilities on the job, relevant organizational outcomes. Results: normally you want your training and control group to be the same level before evaluation and then after the evaluation, you want to see the training group to have performed better. Companies are looking for a tangible roi, this is done differently by many companies. The company from the example on the slides aimed for a large roi in the short-run, but many companies focus on the long-run roi as well.
