Document Summary
Maintenance of internal equilibrium within the body: by adjusting a cells physiological processes. Sweat comes from a variety of body water sources (e. g. Blood: blood volume will decrease if you sweat too much, blood pressure decreases when blood volume decreases. A constant blood pressure is required to maintain blood flow: the body sends signals to increase blood flow. One of the signals increases heart rate: causes an increase in blood pressure, this is only a temporary fix. Another signal increases thirst: causes an increase in water uptake, helps to replenish water body stores. Variables: conditions that need to be maintained. Set point: the ideal normal value of a variable. Normal range: the range of values that a variable can operate in. Body needs to maintain cellular energy production: all cells in the body need fuel and oxygen to function. We take in nutrients when we digest food: travels through the digestive system.
