Failure of children can be traced directly to the changing family not ful lling its obligations. Need to understand the social context, the stresses and strains. We need to know how to do better - causes and affects. Age 3 or 4 - cognitive ability/development is reached. Children are dependent on parents - mental map of who cares, who is supporting/ encouraging, etc. It"s important to know the amount of time spent with children. Do you really know how to raise a children- to become all that they can be. Positive and negative powers of in uence in life. Children need to acquire a sense of self. If we miss a moment, they may experience something negative and could take their whole life to get over. Material wealth on one side (smart child, toys, hurriedness) and poverty, abused children on the other. We still don"t have a universal daycare plan.
