Functionalist say students are taught these things not explicitly but through hidden curriculum. The more education one gets, the more likely they"d have a positive attitude towards social justice. Social strati cation refers to persistent patterns of social inequality. Hierarchies - people on top (rich) and bottom lower-class/ poverty but not always on achieved characteristics, (the status you give yourself). Ascribed is whats given to you at birth. Social mobility - moving up and down with social status - poverty is not static because economy change can happen. Hidden curriculum is to accept your place in school and be respectful of authority and schools support capitalism.
