Tri-fecta (don"t smoke, don"t drink & exercise) The circumstances in which people are born, grow up, live, work and age, and the systems put in place to deal with illness. Pathogenesis refers to the origins of disease. The biomedical model aims to get an understanding of the eiology of major diseases. Salutogenesis is based on the lain term for health and refers to the origins of posiive health. Focuses on factors that protect and enhance good health. Personal determinants: individual level and include: geneic makeup as well as beliefs, aitudes, and personal health pracices. Structural determinants: societal level and include aspects of social and economic environment, such as income distribuion, rates of unemployment, and living and working condiions. Factors afecing our health include 4 major determinants. Health is afected by factors such as individual geneic endowment and the funcioning of various body systems. Health behaviours are part of a complex lifestyle that afects our health studies.
