Document Summary

B cells arise from hematopoietic stem cells common lymphocyte progeneitor. B cell development occur in the bone marrow. B cell interacts with bone marroe- it receives signls to udnego gene rearrangement. While the b cell is in the bone marrow, it will be sampling self antigens. Negative selection/ clonal deletion : these two things mean the same thing. Only 10% of b cells that are made actually leave the bone marrow. The immature b cell can leave the bone marrow and starts to express igd. Igm and igd can be expressed at the same time cells that can express both of these at the same time are now called mature b cells . Prior to receiving antigen, it is referred to as a na ve b cell. Eventually, the b cell can differentiate into a plasma cell or a b cell.
