CLD 241 Lecture Notes - Lecture 10: Fidget Spinner, Task Management, Picture Exchange Communication System
Document Summary
Task sequencing: the sequence of behaviours and events that make up an activity , explaining, demonstrating and reviewing the steps of an activity can provide important support for the development of cognitive processes . Task analysis: observe the child performing the task, provide enough assistance to allow the child to do the task , ensure that each step is mastered before proceeding to another step. Forward chaining - the teacher helps the child to learn the first step, and then the second, and so on. Backward chaining: the teacher leaves the last step for the child to complete, then the last two steps, and so on. Only provided assistance where the child needs assistance (don"t need to help if the child already knows how to do a certain step) You need to make sure that the child mastered a step before teaching the next step (for both forward and backward chaining)
