Computer science emerged out of electrical engineering around 1915: made exclusive by bell laboratories in 1948 by shannon & weaver, shannon & weaver created a mathematical theory of cx (communication): Transmission model of cx: (crappy model; not very good) Point a transmitter channel receiver point b. Produces messages | (encodes) | (adopts the message) | (decodes) | usually includes noise : main problems: Language assumed to be a perfect outlet (assumed ideal) Therefore, not accounting for miscommunication or errors.
