Smartphones can allow employees to share information throughout the workplace as well as keep confidential company data secure from theft. Another advantage a company can have by allowing their employees to use smartphone is an overall financial saving since they can provide new software and updates rather than buying all together new equipment that can be quite expensive. There are also many disadvantages such as it departments would have to figure out how to manage smartphones that have different platforms and work on different networks. They have to ensure privacy is up to date to be able to track all sorts of mobile devices effectively. This can be quite difficult which is why it is a disadvantage.
