Non-clinical term for someone who desires for or undergoes a social, legal and/or medical transition. A first nations person whose spirit encompasses elements of male and female. This is used to af rm their ethno-cultural background at the same time as describing their sexual orientation and/or their gender identity. An umbrella term for anyone whose gender is uid, does not strictly conform to the gender binary or both.
