Until 30,000 bp there was always a variety of hominin species around. Complete replacement of out of africa and regional continuity. Amh evolved exclusively in africa between 250,000 and 150,000 years ago. After 100,000 bp, they spread out from africa. Between 70,000 and 30,000 bp, they replaced all other hominins in the world (with little interbreeding) Therefore, we essentially come from a single population and (theoretically) everyone"s mtdna (mitochondrial dna) traces back to a woman who lived in africa during this time. Estimated movement of modern humans out of africa into the rest of the world. Around 80,000 years ago we moved out of africa and into the sw asia. Arrived in east asia around 70,000 years ago and australia around 50,000 years ago. We started moving into europe around 45kya but had a strong presence only around 40k yeasr ago and 35k years ago in western europe.
