A predisposition to react to a situation, person or concept with a particular response. Relationship of attitudes to values & beliefs and behaviour. Cognitive = evaluation: description of or belief in the way things are. Affective = feeling: emotional or feeling segment of an attitude. Intentions to behave a certain way toward someone or something. Cognitive: my supervisor recognizes my contribution to the project in front of the entire team. Behavioural: works harder and applies for exams to further their knowledge and work contribution. Cognitive dissonance: any incompatibility an individual might perceive between two or more attitudes or between behavior and attitudes. Example: you text anyways despite knowing it"s unsafe to text while driving, give advice to someone that you don"t take yourself (contradiction/hypocritical) Stems from personal beliefs and peer beliefs. Dispositional approach = your personal views and beliefs.
