Health promotion is the foundation for community health nursing. Health education is an important health promotion activity. Crosses domains health education occurs in all areas of nursing. Cannot teach anyone who is not open or ready to learn. Informs chn and phn: epidemiology - study of the occurrence and distribution of health-related states. In specific populations (statistics: descriptive epidemiology description of data of where its taking place, time that it started, who is it effecting, etc o. Domains: auditory learn best when they listen, visual learn best when they watch, psychomotor learn best when they manipulate tools, combination more than one way of learning best o. Some have added read/write as 4th style learn best when they read or take notes. Cultural safety: based on respectful engagement that recognized and strives to address power imbalances inherent in the healthcare system.
