Document Summary
Descriptive research focuses on a very detailed description of behaviour. During the research any behaviours that occur can not be controlled. Occurance of the behaviours can not be explained throughout the research. There are multiple types of descriptive research including case studies, observations, and self-reports. Correlational research is another form of study, it allows us to answer questions that would be unethical to answer by running an experiment and investigating. The research is done on two variables that interact without any intervention by the researchers. It is done this way to see the natural relationship between the two variables. There is no cause and effect in this research. Experimental research is a study in which the researcher conducting an experiment to examine the effect of an independent variable on a dependent variable. The independent variable is affected by our manipulation and the dependent variable is how we measure what has happened throughout the experiment.
