The receptor is now active to transduce the signal inside the cell. Ras is the amplifier step of the message. Sos can interact with gdp but no the receptor so grb2 transfers it to sos which transfers it to ras. As long as this cascade is going, more than one ras can be activated so more than one mark can be activated so more than one gene can be activated. Plcy can interact directly with the phosphorylated tyrosine, it can cut phospholipids (two things are released: dag and insp3) Insp3 binds to an insp3 gated channel to allow for the release of calcium from the. Sos is an activating protein that when it is bound to ras, it changes the shape to make it have a more gtp affinity.
