The early excavators and the development of greek. He was considered and honorary greek who went out looking for seal stones. Knossos and noticed that there were three writing systems mostly on seal stones and ceilings: cretan hieroglyphics and then two more which he called linear a and b. B derived from a and he was the first to notice it. There are only little bits of it and nobody has any idea what language is behind it. He believed that knossos was the palace of minos. This was the biggest palace and in late bronze age was the main one in crete. There are bulls everywhere you look in the palace which led evans to think that the whole story of the minotaur came about because all strong palaces have bulls as their symbol. He took the new civilization and said it was. Europe"s first great one and that it was just as good as other palaces.
