The early bronze age of crete and the cycladic islands. What ever is happening in one part of the world affects the other. Crete did its best work in the middle. Bronze age and then doesn"t appear important later on. The houses share the function and power of the early palaces. The bronze age in crete started when arthur evans discovered the palace of knossos. There was a bit done after that period. Early minoan period was not very well known. What is civilization: social inequality: this creates people with more power than others, long-distance trade: things that are exotic that are coming from far away. Ships are required for this. large city : specialized craft production (and art): these things produced can be used as a marker for status. All of the things described as making a state are controlled by the elites.
