There are two major perspectives: what is functional approach? (midterm) Viewing organizations as complex systems (organic system). You are looking at how organizational culture looks at how organizational culture work. In open organizational systems managers might have an open door policy. In closed organizational system everything is done at the top level companies believe that they have an efficient system. Organizing, relationship (lets say employees are having an issue you will be an intermediary by helping them solve the problem), and change functions. Load, and distortion: what is meaning-centered approach? (midterm) This approach views organizations as a process. Communication as an ongoing process and as organizing and decision- making. Postmodernism and organizational communication: they will say you should disregard functional approaches. Critical theory and organizational communication: they would look at the proper dynamics and the politics of things. Feminist theory and organizational communication: looks at the feminist approach they and women rights.
