Defining human communication: fundamental aspect of being human. Communication is different that communicative behavior: ex: having physical position that doesn"t really match what you"re really feeling. When you"re communicating: distinction between inter and intra personal communication. How info is provided depends on how close the people are. Make connections surrounding the intentions of their comments. Things good in obama"s speech: finding common ground, concrete detail, story, antithesis: use of repetition to show contrast, hand movements, gives off energy more dynamic. When someone is communicating and you like them: eye contact, being able to capture the room, the voice, use of hand gestures nonverbal cues.
