Document Summary
Interphase: the portion of the cell cycle between periods of cell division. Cytokinesis: the part of the cell cycle during which physical division of the cell into two daughter cells occurs. Cyclin-dependent kinase: (cdks) enzymes that control progression of cells through the cycle. Prophase: the first stage of mitosis during which the duplicated chromosomes are prepared for segregation and the mitotic machinery is assembled. Anaphase: the stage of mitosis during which sister chromatids separate from one another. Early in development, cell cycle time is short (a few hours), but later in development, takes longer. ) Interphase represents all of the stages between successive mitosis. Mitosis is super short btw. (small piece on pie chart). End product is two genetically identical daughter cells. In g1, they gotta begin conducting normal cell metabolism, cell growth, organelles duplicate now. Mitochondira, er ets. now its got larger, and it gets a signal that ok cmon lets start the duplication!!!
