Document Summary

The forks will go all around the circular dna. Any rna primer that is synthesized at the end of lagging strands will be missing 100 nucleotides. Only way we replace dna with rna is with dna polymerase that adds to 3" e(cid:374)d, (cid:271)ut if there is (cid:374)o. 3" e(cid:374)d the(cid:374) (cid:455)ou (cid:272)a(cid:374) (cid:374)ot fill i(cid:374) (cid:449)ith dna. Every time dna replicates you end up with shorter fragments bc you are not able to fill in the end protects damage, buries important info closer to the middle of the chromosome. Telomerase (enzyme) has rna template that carries along with it all times, it is complimentary to the part of telomere repeat sequence. Can add a whole new telomere sequence to template strand. Rna primase can add another primer and can synthesize a new okazaki fragment and allow us to preserve telomeric repeat sequences that we could not previously extend.
