Pacific rim of fire involves widespread subduction and melt of pacific ocean crust below surrounding continents. Subduction creates new continental crust below resulting in growth of continents through geologic time and creates natural hazards around pacific rim and surrounding cities. Tethys sea was present between gondwanan and laurasia and the shape is like the capital letter c. Mediterranean sea is a remnant of the tethys sea and will be completely destroyed. Salvaterra: associating with dying volcanoes and produces sulfur gas. Strombolian eruption: type of eruption and not dangerous. Himalayas is made out of marine sedimentary rocks and basalt, ice (carve out these high mountains).
