Lecture 10: the natural climate in canada over the last 2. 5-3 billion years has been that of ice ages. Most of the time canada has been covered in ice: about 10000 years ago the ice began to evacuate. This is when the first people started to migrate to southern ontario. Paleo-indians (ancient indians): the planet overall has been cooling in the last 60 million years, climate was warmest about 55-60 million years ago. It started deteriorating since then: shapes of leaves preserved in sedimentary rocks tell us about climates.
