Lecture 11: exposure pattern is different between children and adults, newborn relies on milk and only milk. If mom is exposed when she was a baby, then her baby is exposed through breast milk. If the baby is fed formula, you warm up water to warm the milk. Could be lead, nitrate ( baby blue syndrome): when the baby is 4-6 months older it starts to eat some solid food. First foods are grains, rice powder, baby cereal or fruits and vegetables. If there is a problem with pesticides with the vegetables or fruits then the baby will be exposed: metabolic rate children has a faster metabolism, they burn calories fast. Pool water is not drinking water quality because it has much more chlorine: living close to industry, poor ventilation of home, radon gas release of gas through the basement ( do not forget this).
