H enotheism: worship and following of one god, but acknowledging that others exist. Cosmotheism: (jan assmann) one solar creator is source of, and identical with, all other deities. Some important deities and their symbols and functions. Osiris god of the dead (mummified; atef or white crown) and father ofthe royal falcon god horus. Seth god of chaos, storm, the outside world, aggressive sexuality, but also protector of the solar barque (head of an unknown desert animal) Nephthys lady of the house , who does not have much of a role other than as sister and mourner of osiris. Isis sister wife of osiris and mother of horus; cunning and wise, can take various forms. Her principal role is as reviver or her husband osiris and protector of her son. Hathor personification of the solar eye and disk, sky goddess, and as such also mistress of both the stars and evening lioness tefnut (also maat) daughter of atum.
