Document Summary

Prefrontal cortex (pfc) and cerebellum are two areas of research that are gaining a lot of research importance. Pfc and cerebellum has to do with functions that makes us a human being- our ability to control ourselves, our ability to have awareness etc. Cerebellum was essentially thought to be associated with motor functions (balance, coordination, muscle firing etc. ). If you look at the growth of brain over time, pfcs growth was very quick. It turns out even cerebellum"s growth was quick. Cerebellum is integrated into many side and the right side. )t wasn"t until the (cid:883)96(cid:882)s to cut open the corpus callosum different areas of the brain as is the pfc. When talking about lobes, it is important to consider that the brain is split into two, the left (information superhighway that connects the left and right lobes of your brain). The two hemispheres of the brain are actually two mini-brains connected by a bundle of fibers, the corpus callosum.
