Trasdutction is wher we translate the raw data of the world into neural impulses. Raised kittens who from birth, were only allowed to see out of one eye. Cells in the visual cortex respond almost enrirely to signals from th normal eye, so that the blocked eye is functionally disconnected from the brain. The blinded eye still worked, it was still performing the basis functions, but its connection to the brain became disconnected. Raised kittens with 2 functional eyes, but one eye was only exposed to vertical stripes and the other to horizontal lines. Its whole world was compised of vertical & horizontal lines. They made the cats wear special goggles to do this.
