Document Summary
Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life, and you will call it fate. First one: internal look of yourself, how you feel, depression. Second scale: optimist/pessimist, control over your life/no control over your life, external look at world. But second one is supposed to measure locus of control (extent to which you think you have control over things v. s. external factors run the show you don"t have control). We want to operationalize something but we pretty much always deal with abstract conceptual variables. Abstract variables are often a blend/not a pure construct/not a single unitary thing. E. g. locus of control doesn"t exist by itself in its own dimension (other factors play a role too). If i have an internal locus of control you expect someone to be more confident, feel better about myself, stronger goals and be more optimistic. But is locus of control or is it self-esteem, optimism, certainty/uncertainty orientation etc.
