Representation: the way people see things (not always reality) Result of imperialism (one culture assuming they hv the right to make decisions for another culture) and racism. Its ne when we have representation w objects but not w people. You dehumanize a person by de ning w terms that suit yourself. Often done during wars (ex. the enemy doesn"t care about life like we do, enemy doesn"t care about fam like we do, the enemy is a lil bitch) They sound like good compliments, but are not true since they are given by other groups of people to different cultures. It pressures certain people who don"t want to live the stereotypes: not every woman wants to be a mom. Are koreans are good at math, etc. Giving negative qualities to other groups of people. That group of people has this bad quality. If enough of this representation takes place, it becomes reality even though it might damage people.
