Document Summary

Not just one histone, whole bunch of histone tails, acetylation, methylation contributing to histone code. De novo methyl transferases = germ line methylase. 3 mechanisms that lead to monoallelic expression (due to methylation) Methylation in imprinting control region determining whether genes aer expressed or not. Silenced on maternal chromosome cause silenced from methylation due to icr. Modification of icr leads to different methylation patterns. 7 sometimes expression from icr can lead to an antisense. Here if icr methylated it prevents transcription of antisense transcript but yes to air gene. When antisense transcript is there it silences gene in cis more likely on same chromosome (cis), less effect in trans. Icr could serve as location for binding of regulatory proteins. Here not affecting methylation of either side or antisense transcript. But here methylation of icr determines if particular protein can bind the protein that binds acts as insulator. When bound it prevents enhancer interacting with igf2.
