Graphics are arguably the oldest media, dating back to prehistoric times (ex. cavemen drew symbols) Most are stored as a grid of tiny, coloured cells (called pixels) Bitmap/raster graphics: pixel-based, are the only available format for digital photographs and the most common format for other computer graphics.
