Victory in 1918: allies were being prepared to continue the war into 1920, and no one expected germany to be completely broken after the. However, germany was very low on manpower, and through every remaining reserve into the last major large offensive operation in the spring offensive. Collapse of germany"s war effort began with the counter-offensives in july. Objectives: limited, push german forces further away from the important supply line (but it eventually turned into a decisive battle marking the begin of german defeat) One of the rst conjoined allied efforts, participation of australian corp, canadian corp, british & french armies: secrecy and deception was needed for any offensives learned from past mistakes (ex: battle of somme, nivelle offensive / Second battle of aisne, enemies can often predict offensives based on logistic transport & aircraft) Ensured secrecy the largest amount of tanks were used, therefore it was needed to conceal their transport.
