Ex. health and safety training is required for the current job. Technology etc. that is relevant to the specific organization. Ex. new technology (computer programs) in the company, so you have to be retrained on how to use this system. People are happier, stay with job longer if they receive better training. Ex. people to work in extreme conditions, not a lot of application so not a lot of talent to choose from, have to train them to make them better. If all applicants are shitty you have to make one good. By law we are required to do certain types of training. Ex. going to hawaii to learn a new skill can be seen as a reward.
