Our mindset reflects or attitudes & values; this can affect our judgment and will have an impact on our behaviours with out clients: strengths of knowledge & knowing. Acquisition and use of information from formal sources and our experiences. Every experience we have will add to our knowledge. We need to engage in on going reflection in order to build on what we know and how we know it. Look at client as partner: strengths of advocacy. To function a an advocate for the client. Requires that nurses protect, stand up for, defend another person and family. Takes courage when to know when to take a stand or when to change your way of thinking. How to act : be aware of hat is happening inside of them, paying attention to your gut reaction because that relays what info you actually attend to.
