Transformational leadership: leaders that collaborate, empower employees, create vision, inspire, motivaete. Transactional leadership: managerial style leaders that focus on supervision and organization, leader promotes compliance through positive or negative reinforcement. Each nurse shows leadership by providing, facilitating, and promoting the best possible care to the public. Both formal and informal role indicators for all nurses: Provide direction to, collaborate with, and share knowledge with students, novices, and ucps. Nursing leadership is about critical thinking, action, & advocacy and it happens in all roles and domains of nursing practice. Team communication (learn to communicate openly and respectively, share ideas and info) Delegation (learn to understand the role of nursing and how we delegate to others, delegating shows trust and value to collegues, students will observe this and begin to practice to improve clinical management skills) Knowledge building (key to ongoing competence, taking learning opportunities, sharing knowledge with collegues)
