Leadership is collaboration, lead by example: shared vision, values, organizational strategies and relationships. Management is managing over someone and telling them what they did wrong. To be a manager doesn"t mean to be a leader. Leadership: collaborative partnerships, transactional leadership managerial style leaderships who focus on the bossing and evaluate performance, transformational leadership leaders that collaborate with employees, empower, motivate, inspire. Personal standard statement: each nurse shows how leadership by providing, facilitating and promoting the best care possible to the public. Indicators for all nurses: model professional values, beliefs and attributes, provide direction, collaborative and share knowledge. Don"t need to be in leadership role to be a leader. Happens in all roles and domains of nursing practice: credible, courageous, visible, inspiring to others. Leadership of nursing students: clinical care coordination, making clinical decisions, setting priorities, gaining organizational skills, using resources effectively.
