Sperm and oocyte meet in fallopian tube. Ligaments holding these structures together, uterus moves out of cervix through vagina if ligaments not working. Females have all oocytes made during fetal life. Huge proliferation of gametes during uterus life decline during birth. Number of eggs woman is born with is way less than when in uterus. Meiosis one begins in fetus then arrested at prophase1 in fetus doesn"t continue till puberty. Meiosis 2 continues after puberty 1 egg/month. Lets look at the development of the genetic properties of the female gamete. shows the behavior of just a single pair of homologous chromosomes with a single crossover. With 22 pairs of autosomes and an average of two crossovers between each pair, the variety of gene combinations in sperm is very great. Blood testes barrier in male move through blood barrier then get 1st, 2nd meiotic division 4 haploid gametes.
