Role strain - refers to incompatible role demands within a single status, such as having two final exams and a large term paper due on the same day. Important agents of socialization include the family, school, peers, and media. The self-concept includes traits along the personal social identity continuum. The self forms via nature (biology) and nurture (socialization) Socialization takes place within the social structure.
